Sensory Playroom Project - Rainbow Haven
We had such an incredible experience with M’s sensory playroom project and wanted to share the details in this blog post.
After notifying the family that they were selected for the project, we consulted with M’s parents to learn more about her interests, strengths, challenges and goals. This consultation ensured we designed a space that was going to meet her needs. M, like many other neurodivergent children requires a safe space to practice gross motor and fine motor skills, a space that allows her to explore, to enhance her creativity and communication skills and most importantly to regulate her nervous system. After taking all the information from the consultation into consideration, we designed a mood board that was shared with M’s parents for feedback. They were so gracious and trusting throughout the entire process and were so wonderful to work with!
Once the designs for the room were approved, we ordered all the products and scheduled the trades. My husband Michael and I decided to tackle the decals on the ceiling and Christina Lewis our wallpaper specialist assisted with the installation of the rainbow mural.
We were so happy to work with Matt and Kevin again from @drakeandcorenos. They are diligent, meticulous, kind and communicative and always a pleasure to work with. They assisted us in patching, painting and installing all the sensory equipment and room decor.
We couldn’t have asked for a smoother project from start to finish. Everything went well and according to plan on the installation day and the reveal was truly remarkable.
Here’s some before and after photos of the project:
Products: Savoiz sensory swing, wooden swing, climbing ladder, jungle gym structure, scalloped shelves.
