World Autism Day Activities
On April 2nd, we celebrate World Autism Day to educate others about autism, to raise awareness, encourage acceptance, understanding and inclusivity. Show your support by participating in community events, by discussing the importance of kindness and inclusivity with your children/students and by donating/fundraising to assist organizations that support the neurodiverse community.
Last year, I published the book, Understanding Lenny: A Book About A Boy With Autism to help parents and teachers educate their children/students about autism, to raise awareness, acceptance, understanding and most importantly to encourage and promote kindness.
If you’re a teacher, I’ve created worksheets with a variety of activities that can be used with the book, Understanding Lenny: A Book About A Boy With Autism to discuss autism in your classroom, along with other hands-on activities and crafts to decorate bulletin boards around your school.
In our household, we celebrate autism every day and hope you will help create a world where autistic people are recognized and acknowledged for their unique abilities, so that they can thrive and reach their full potential.
